THE END RESULT

One of Stephen Covey’s quotes is about beginning with the end in mind. When we begin anything with the end in mind we will have more clarity, be more focused, intentional, and determined. Whether we are doing a project, going on vacation, or taking a course, we want to ensure we do our best because we want to make it successfully to the end.

As believers, we can also think about the end result. When we read Scripture about God’s promises, we can have hope for a better future. His word can help us stay on the right path to store riches in Heaven. Meditating on God’s word will keep us focused to do His will. Let’s remember the end God has in mind for us and know He can help us get through anything.

SCRIPTURE:

2 Peter 3:11-13 “Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.” (NLT)

Colossians 3:1-2 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (NIV)

ACTION STEPS:

1. Write ways you can keep God’s plan in mind.
2. List Scripture that tells you about the end of time.
3. Remember the importance of meditating on God’s word.
4. Pray daily, worship God, and thank Him for Jesus’ imminent return.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, we want to keep our eyes on You. We can do this through praying. We can do this through worship. We can do this by meditating on Your word. We want to keep in mind Your promises and Your return. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

REMEMBER:

Matthew 24:12-13 “There will be more and more evil in the world, so most people will stop showing their love for each other. But those people who keep their faith until the end will be saved.” (NCV)

Isaiah 26:19 “Your people have died, but they will live again; their bodies will rise from death. You who lie in the ground, wake up and be happy! The dew covering you is like the dew of a new day; the ground will give birth to the dead.” (NCV)

Philippians 3:20-21 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” (ESV)

FOCUS:

Isaiah 25:8 “When he has swallowed up death once and for all, the Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face and remove his people’s disgrace from the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken.” (CSB)
